The POTY is a monthly photography competition among members on a monthly theme. At the end of the year the person with the highest score is the Photographer of the Year. At the end of the year a Photograph of the Year is elected from all the number 1 entries you can see in the gallery on this page. On the Archive page you will find links to the POTY pages of other years as well as a link to the competition rules.

The themes for 2022-2023

Each theme has its own page, which contains tutorials and examples to inspire you. The results of the POTY (including the 5 best pictures) have been added to these pages during the year and will be published in a book.

September  2022 – Shadow and light was won by Heather Oortman-Bridge with ‘Table and chairs’

November 2022 – Rush hour was won by Ronald van Oosteroom with ‘Flow Motion’

December  2022 – Glass was won by Joop Peerboom with ‘Blue glass’

January 2023 – Bokeh was won by Susanne Engelhardt with ‘Electric Light Bokeh’

February  2023 – Serenity was won by Heather Oortman-Bridge with ‘Kinderdijk at 5 am’

March 2023 – Street photography was won by John Stratton with ‘Wave’.

April  2023 – Tension was won by Rob van de Steenoven with ‘Help daddy’

May 2023 – Cityscape was won by John Stratton with ‘Skyline reflection’
